Collection: Horse Bandages & Pads

Horse bandages come in a variety of different forms and can serve many different purposes.
From providing protection from injury during work to assisting in the protection of an existing injury, bandages have a variety of uses. It is important that you use the right type of bandages depending on the use you are needing bandages for.
If you are using horse bandages for protection during exercise it is important that you correctly apply bandages, otherwise they can do more harm than good. If you are unsure about how to correctly apply a bandage, ask someone knowledgeable to teach you. Exercise bandages are usually made from a soft, stretchy material and are applied over the top of leg/bandage pads. Exercise bandages should sit between the top of the fetlock and bottom of the hock. Exercise bandages should not restrict the horse's movement or create pressure points (which can occur through incorrect application). The same level of pressure but be used across all legs.
Bandages used for stabling purposes protect the horse's legs from swelling due to standing still. Stable bandages can also be used to protect a wound and hold wound dressings in place alongside keeping the area clean. Stretchy bandages, such as vet wrap, may also be used to keep a wound dressing in place and to keep the area clean. With any horse injury it is important to follow and seek the advice of your veterinarian.
